Mission Statement: LGBT Network Namibia
We the LGBT Network – Namibia, stand for the proposition that all of us are created equal and worthy of the same rights to freedom, liberty, and equality.
In exercising our strength as a marginalised community, LGBT Network – Namibia's mission is; to advocate equal rights for all LGBT Namibians with equality for all citizens!
LGBT Network – Namibia's mission derives from our firm belief in the principles of limited government, individual liberty, responsibility, free markets and a strong national defense & pride.
We emphasise that these principles and the moral values on which they stand are consistent with the pursuit of equal treatment under the law for all, including LGBT Namibian's.
We strive to provide a strong leadership presence of and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered persons in the community at large, through education, legal advocacy, and participation in political and civic activities and social functions.
We will encourage fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation
We will endeavor to advance our mission to local and governmental level. Coordinating strategy with the national office, these chapters can create a powerful force for transforming or changing the political situation in Namibia.
We are all loyal LGBT Namibians, working for change within the Namibian governmental departments. Through education and action, we demonstrate that LGBT Namibians can, in a spirit of solidarity and integrity, contribute substantially to building and sustaining a wider Namibian Network. Our organization's strength comes from our various grass root experiences.
