4 DAY DESERT DUNES & WILDLIFE

PRICE – N$19 990/PERSON – twin share
Single supplement N$1450/person

The ultimate safari for those with limited time who wish to get the most from their Namibian visit. The combination of 2 luxury safaris is perfect for those that want to see the Namib Desert as well as some of Namibia's unique wildlife. A stay at Sossus Dune Lodge, located inside the Namib Naukluft National Park, and Erindi Game Reserve, a 71 000 hectare game reserve is made complete with 1 night at Amani Lodge where you can join the Big Cat Experience to see lion, leopard and cheetah up close and support a wonderful conservation project.

DAY 1 ERINDI PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

This morning pickup is from your accommodation establishment at 8h00 (8h30 in summer). Driving north we head towards the Erongo region arriving at Erindi mid morning. The reserve is set on 71 000 ha of pristine wilderness with varied landscape in a malaria free area, from mountains to savanna to open grasslands right in the heart of Namibia. The private reserve is teeming with game including predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah as well as some more unusual species not often found in central Namibia such as hippos, crocodiles, and wild dog. Upon arrival at the lodge, we can settle into our rooms, relax at the waterhole or pool until lunch. Late afternoon we will then have the opportunity to explore the area while on a guided game drive. The game drive enables us to interact with your guide and learn as much as possible about this unique game reserve and the animals and plants that you find. On return dinner will be served in the restaurant where we can watch the nocturnal game, such as rhino, aardvark and many plains antelope come to the waterhole to quench their thirst. (LD)

DAY 2 AMANI LODGE

This morning we are up early for our morning tea/coffee before heading out for our morning game drive which allows us to see Erindi in a slightly different light. Species to look for this morning include cheetah, wild dog, honey badger and plains antelope. Returning to the lodge for brunch we can then relax by the waterhole or the pool until we depart for our return journey towards Windhoek and on to Amani Lodge where we will join the Big Cat Experience. Amani Lodge works together with the Cheetah Conservation Fund to protect Namibia's big cats, and here you will get the opportunity to learn more about these fascinating animals as well as to take some amazing photos. We then have the option to visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon. While the canyon is considerably smaller than the mighty Fish River Canyon, its significance to the surrounding area is huge. As one of the few sources of permanent water in the desert area, its mere existence has sustained both animal and human life over hundreds of years. We return to the lodge where you may like to take a walk or relax before witnessing one of the most spectacular sunsets over the desert you will ever see. A sumptuous dinner in the lodge before retiring to our luxurious bungalows for the night. (BLD)
